Let us praise the Lord:

Let me dwell in your tent forever!
    Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings!
For you, O God, have heard my vows;
    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

Today's Reading: Exodus 17:8-16

      How do you feel after reading today's passage? Do you know why that can happen when Moses hands were lowered the Israelites were losing and when Moses help up his hands to pray they were winning? Prayers are really so powerful and important?

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

       Moses again assumes control of the power God had given to him at the Reed Sea and directs the forces of heaven in the battle that follows, with the amusing need for him to be given physical support as he does so.  The way the battle works shows it is not merely a this-worldly one but one where God's forces are active in ensuring that Israel is not defeated. It resembles the conflict with Pharaoh, except that here for the first time the Israelites are involved in fighting; they do not just watch while God acts.

      Do you know God has His own strategy for those who are willing to listen and obey? What kind of message and strategy have you got today?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

     The title I heard from Jesus today is: Do you really know the power of prayers?

    What I receive from Jesus today is a wake up call that we do not know the power of prayers and we do not know how to receive God's different strategy for us to win a spiritual warfare.

     Why I say so? Very simple. If we understand the power of prayers, there won't be so few people joining their churches'  weekly prayer meeting. According to statistic, the percentage of people joining the weekly prayer meetings are below 10% of the total number of the congregation! May be Korean churches are not the same, they have at least 30 to 50%, or more.

      If you insist that you can't join your church's weekly prayer meeting, I do not think you know the power of prayers! Of course, the power of prayers is more than joining your church's weekly prayer meeting. But, for any church to experience the power of God and for Christians to experience the power of God, the number of people joining the weekly prayer meeting is the first test. Failing this test, nothing can be done actually!

      Don't ask why other people can't join, start with you first, then it is your duty to tell one more people how important it is. Start with you to add one more to your weekly prayer meeting.

      Then, you will understand the power of prayers more and more!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to experience the power of prayers. Lead us to know the importance of joining our own church's weekly prayer meeting and urge us in your way so that we are willing to join.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
