Today's passage gives us the final answer of what we need to prepare for. N.T. Wright gives us a good understanding to this important passage. He says:
The crisis is coming, we have seen. It poses a challenge to absolute loyalty. But now even what we might have thought the gospel was all about is being stood on its head. Prince of Peace, eh? Jesus seems to be saying. No: Prince of Division, more likely! Once this message gets into households there'll be no peace: families will split up over it, just as the prophets had foretold. The warnings about fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, and so on includes a quotation from Micah 7:6, a passage in which the prophet warns of imminent crisis and urges that the only way forward is complete trust in God.
Do you think you have already prepared well of that complete trust in God? When you face with suffering, illness, losing your marriage, losing your job, losing your loved one, facing death, do you still have that complete trust in God? Are you really prepared?
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: The only way forward is complete trust in God!
What I received from Jesus today is the key for us to live in faith. When I have seen what AMiA experienced in the past 15 months that we lost lots of churches, I understand more about what Jesus says in this passage. I have seen lots of division, persecution and all kinds of deceiving schemes. I have seen good friends and colleagues become oppressors and accusers. I have seen good friends become enemies. Why? How can this happen?
Well, it's all being prophesied by Jesus two thousand years ago. The key is that after all those division and sufferings, do we understand the only way forward is complete trust in God. If we understand and practice this complete trust, than very soon we will have a breakthrough and be able to fulfill His Kingdom purposes.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to move forward courageously to have a complete trust in you in the midst of great sufferings. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
