DAY 324 - Healed but Not Saved! (請按此處收聼廣東話Cantonese podcast click here)

Please join our new Mentor 123 campaign starting this coming Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013!

What you need to do is to find two more people meeting once a week for three months, encouraging each others to have daily devotion - a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus!

To create a momentum to this new yearly campaign I am going to start a new blog and podcast on that day. I will direct my two blogs and podcasts to that new site to have a 40 days BREAK.BUILD daily devotion. For a preliminary format please go to this site: http://www.breakbuild.blogspot.ca/ .

You can see the layout and titles of all 40 days. Come on , let's get two more people to start a daily tasting of Jesus wonderful banquet specially prepared for us!

Bible Study

This passage follows the lesson in humility, today comes the lesson in gratitude. Without gratitude, those people were just healed by Jesus and not saved by Jesus!
     N.T. Wright says:
Luke doesn't say that they were any less cured, but he does imply that they were less grateful.  After the lesson in humility comes the lesson in gratitude.  Humility, of course, is still built in: only the outsider, only the foreigner, gives God the glory, showing up the Jews whose very name reminded them to praise God(the word 'Judah' in Hebrew means 'praise').
Jesus' closing words to the Samaritan invite a closer look.  The word for 'get up' is a word early Christians would have recognized as having to do with 'resurrection'.  Like the prodigal son, this man 'was dead, and is alive again'.  New life, the life which Israel was longing for as part of the age to come, had arrived in his village that day, and it had called out of him a faith he didn't know he had.
Healing without gratitude means those people did not want to have a relationship with Jesus.  If they did not come to Jesus, how could they be saved? Do you understand how important gratitude is now?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: Healed but not saved!

What I received from Jesus today is a reminder of our ministry. I have seen many people being healed, but most of them they never come back with a thankful heart.  When they are healed, sometimes they just disappeared!
The Lord has anointed me with the gift of healing to help many people got healed. Some with very serious sickness like cancer, stroke, accident or even dying. The painful and disappointed thing is that a lot of them got healed and they did not stay with Jesus and I could never see them again! Very sad!
Healing without gratitude means healed but not saved! What a waste!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be always thankful and help others to show their gratitude to your healing so that they not only got healed but being saved. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
