Bible Study

What do you see Joseph's role in this passage? Is he a prophet? Is he a miracle worker? Nowadays we have all kind of modern technology to help people to sleep and to interpret their dreams. But, what about those dreams from God? Do you have a Joseph around you who can do what Joseph did? Are you a Joseph?

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

We had lots of information, but we lacked a big picture and we lacked wisdom. Pharaoh had all those resources, but his experts were baffled by his dreams. At least they had the brave humility to admit it. If we lack a Joseph, as we usually do, we should at least be wise to face the limitations of our resources.

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Do you lack a Joseph?

What Jesus tells me today is a strange question. First of all, who do you think is a Joseph? For me, it is very simple, the one who can tell me what God wants me to do, no matter to help me to interpret a dream or any kind of way.

We learn from Pharaoh's example that he admitted his limitation in the midst of all kinds of resources and he wanted to seek for Joseph's help. Can you see how long did God plan for this to happen?

God makes big thing works through dreams and any kind of possible thing you can or cannot think of. When He works, He sends someone to solve the clue, it can be a Joseph, a Daniel, a Elijah a John the Baptist or anyone.

Do you lack a Joseph to help you to discern God's will? How can this passage helps you to find you Joseph and trust your Joseph to make clear God's plan?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that Joseph you send to help us to discern your will so that your work can be accomplished. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
