We see again times after times how God gives success to those who honour Him. Especially in todays passage we see how Joseph raised up to in charge of the whole land of Egypt, only under Pharaoh. You need to know that Joseph did not ask for those success, it is all from God. In his success, there is something important that we need to learn today. And, this kind of learning does not fit with ordinary people's mentality. What's is that?

Let's take a look at what Professor John Goldingay says (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Goldingay) :

The recession that began in 2008 came about in large part as a result of our living beyond our means for years.  Our motto has been "Spend first, save later."  If you can make things work out the opposite way, it has advantages.  Joseph's interpretation of Pharaoh's dreams makes it possible to save first and then manage through the crisis when it comes.

John Goldingay. Genesis for Everyone - Part Two. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2010, p.147.

Are you those people who like to spend first, save later? What is that essence in the lifestyle of Christlikeness that Jesus wants you to learn today?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Save first, spend afterward

What Jesus tells me today is a call to action of what we learn today. Is it difficult for you to save first, spend afterward? Don't tell me it is not difficult. Why? Because it is a kind of lifestyle for most people now.

So, what are you going to do now? Do you have any new plan to live this out: Save first, spend afterward

If you can do that, then it should be more easier for you to start your tithing if you have not started yet. Or, if you have started tithing, then you should be more easier to offer more than tithing. Do you know why? Because that's how God teaches His people to well use their money.

Save first, spend afterward so that you can offer more to God and beyond and become a real Kingdom servant of God

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to save first, spend afterward and offer as much as we can to you so that your Kingdom will be extended. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
