Bible Study
The Jews wanted to know whether Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus pulled the theme of the good shepherd and the sheep as an answer to those Jews. They did not believe that Jesus is the Messiah because they were not Jesus' sheep. If they were Jesus' sheep then they would do three things:
1. Be able to listen to His voice.
2. Have a personal relationship with Jesus.
3. Are willing to follow Jesus' lead as a good shepherd.
Do you have these three things?
Have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: I am here, come!
Jesus gave me a most simple answer to discern whether we are his sheep. It is just like someone you know saying this loudly to you when you are trying to find him. "I am here, come!" If you have that relationship, you can recognize his voice and you are willing to go there to meet him.
When you are living each day without a purpose, Jesus says, "I am here, come!"
When you are having some kind of addiction, Jesus says, "I am here, come!"
When you are in darkness and without any hope, Jesus says, "I am here, come!"
When you are lost not knowing who you really are, Jesus says, "I am here, come!"
Are you able to listen to that small voice, "I am here, come!"
Are you willing to follow after you listen?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to listen to your voice because we know you and that we are willing to follow you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
