When things don't come our way, we would act just like Martha did in this passage. "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died."
This passage is to deal with our "if' conditional situation.
N.T. Wright says:
Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life." 'Resurrection' isn't just a doctrine. It isn't just a future fact. it's a person, and here he is standing in front of Martha, teasing her to make the huge jump of trust and hope. He is challenging her, urging her, to exchange her 'if only...' for an 'if Jesus.."
If you're like that, and if you have an 'if only' in your heart or mind right now, put yourself in Martha's shoes. run off to meet Jesus. Tell him the problem. Ask him why he didn't come sooner, why he allowed that awful thing to happen. And then be prepared for a surprising response.
That's from N.T. Wright. And now, could you ask yourself in the time of crisis like what Mary and Martha were, is Jesus with you and how are you going to ask him to tell you those things you need to know. Do you have faith to wait for His answer?
Have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: I Am The Resurrection! 復活在我!
Yes, Jesus is a person! And that's enough for us to receive today. It is such a big gift to all of us today! Jesus is a person and the most important thing in our lives is to have that personal intimate relationship with Jesus daily as how Jesus has with the Father!
So simple, have you got it!
The resurrection is a person and the person is Jesus! Bravo!
There is no fear any more, right?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for reminding us that you are a person and you are the resurrection, in you we have no fear. Lead us to walk in faith through all kinds of crisis knowing that they are just challenges to see if we are having a personal intimate relationship with you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
