Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
John 8: 43-47 (NIV 1984)
If you take a close look at verses 43 to 47, you know it instantly that Jesus is accusing the Jews in general of being the children of the devil, of being liars and murderers.
Why? Because if they had a true relationship with the Heavenly Father then they would know the truth and that they would know that Jesus is the Messiah, the way, the truth and the life, and they would love Jesus. If they were children of God then they would tell the truth and they would be life savers and not liars and murderers.
Are you children of God or children of the Devil?
Have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

What I heard from Jesus today is: The Devil's children! 魔鬼子孫!
You may not think that there is a slight chance that you are the devil's child, right?Let's do an exercise to draw some key words from verse 31 to 47 to identify who we really are:
1. Children of God: Stick to Jesus as his disciples, be able to know the truth, speak the truth and live in the truth, be free, loving Jesus, be willing to be sent by God to do His Kingdom work, be able to hear what Jesus says.
2. Children of the Devil: the opposite of No. 1 like always far from Jesus and his teaching, a liar, a murderer killing and disconnecting all kinds of loving relationship with Jesus and his servants, live in your own desire, doing you own thing, no truth inside, do not listen to what Jesus says.
So, which side are you more closer to recently? Jesus or the devil?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be true children of yours and to live in your way, your truth and your life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
