DAY 710 - Jesus Is Your Only Help (請按此處收聼廣東話Cantonese podcast click here)

Four years ago today, April 9, 2010, Michelle went to see her family doctor and was told that she got leukaemia. She was admitted to Vancouver General Hospital the next morning (http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2010/04/day-234-my-wife-michelle-has-leukemia.html ). Michelle is not feeling well lately!  Her family doctor is now having a series of check-up for her to see what is happening. On this day, I would like to invite you to join us in a 100 days of prayer (From April 9 to July 17) for Michelle, our family and my ministry. Please click this link to join us to pray:

What you need to do is very simple. Choose one hour slot for the whole week to pray for Michelle, our family and my ministry. You may use the whole hour in prayer or you can still do you work in your office but use as much time as you can to pray and the other time work prayerfully that hour to pray for us. I encourage you to participate. We need you to join us! Trust in the power of prayers!

Bible Study

     We learn from Yesterday's passage the importance of God's Word and how we should open the Bible to read the Word and to let Jesus speaks to us everyday.  Here in this passage, the author points everything to Jesus. Without the relationship with Jesus and the presence of Jesus, reading the Bible would be purely a learning experience. The power of the Word like a double-edged sword is because of the presence of Jesus, as says from 4:13 "before the eyes of our Lord". And, the author describes Jesus here in today's passage as the supreme high priest.    

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
      First, Jesus is the culmination of the idea of priesthood.  He is the priest par excellence.  Second, however, he is far superior to any previous priest.  He can do all that they do - including sympathizing with human weakness - but he belongs to a different sort of priesthood, one which we can rely on totally and for ever.

     How close are you with Jesus lately that He can do His priestly function for you taking you to connect with our Heavenly Father? We need lots of help, but perhaps, Jesus is our only help.

    The title I heard from Jesus today is: Jesus is your only help

    The message I got from Jesus today is a reminder that no one can really help us when we come to a time of human limitation. Yes, lots of time in my life I felt no one can help me to solve the problem. I was so unsettled!

    But, with my daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus, suddenly every doors opened. I can't express that in words, but it happened so many times. Usually, those doors opened after many giving, prayers and fasting. If we stay in close steps with Jesus each day, in times, the door we need will be opened.

     Yes, Jesus is your only help! 
     
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to understand and be able to experience that you are our only help. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
