Bible Study

This passage tells us that Jesus is the one and only one who takes away our sins by dying on the Cross once and once only.

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
It is emphasized that the sacrifice of Jesus was a single moment in history which accomplished forgiveness, and is not to be repeated.  Christianity is not a religion that imagines itself going round and round in a circle, coming back to the same point.  It is not a religious system like that at all.  It is about events that move forwards, in a historical sequence, from a beginning, to a development, to a climax, to the results of that climax.

N.T. Wright. Hebrews for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2004, p.113.

What has Jesus single moment in history to do with your life? Are you moving forward to a climax or are you going round and round in a circle without any growth? Are you free? Are you more like Christ?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

The title I heard from Jesus today is: In Christ we are free

The message I got from Jesus today is a checkpoint to see whether you are free. Free from the bondage of sin.

Lots of Christians are going round and round, never grow up, always trap in those same kinds of sins. Some of those Christians got discouraged, stop going to small group, fellowship, church and then their faith. It is happening everywhere! A lot of Christians are not free!

We are being set free in Christ, right? So, in Christ we are free! How can you to be more in Christ so that you are really free! How can you to be more like Christ that you and all disciples of Christ are moving forward to the climax? The climax of the new world, the coming of Christ?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be free because we are willing to be with you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
