Bible Study

The author takes us from the beginning message of Jesus is superior than the angels, Moses and the Law and all other things to focus on Jesus to todays passage leading us to the presence of God. Yes, we can enter into the Most Holy Place into God's presence through the blood of Jesus. It's talking about worshipping God, in private and in public as well.

Bishop N.T. Wright says ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright ) :
We are to come to worship God - not just in private, though private worship and prayer is enormously important, but in public as well.  The danger of people thinking they could be Christians all by themselves was, it seems, present in the early church just as today, and verse 25 warns against it…
Every Christian needs the encouragement of every other Christian. Everyone who comes through the door of the place of worship, whether it be a house in a back street or a great cathedral in a public square, is a real encouragement to everyone else who is there.

N.T. Wright. Hebrews for Everyone. Louisville,KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2004, p.117.

How well do you experience the presence of God when you worship in your home church lately? How long have you been staying in the same church worshipping God?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

The title I heard from Jesus today is: Stay in your church

The message I got from Jesus today is the way to break the mentality of consumers' attitude of going to church. The modern consumers'  attitude leads people to have a throw-away habit. We throw away quite a lot of things we do not like but still can use for a long time, shoes, shirts, computers, cellular phones, cars and almost everything. Even marriage and church!

Lots of Christians stay in one church for less than five years or at most ten, then something happens and they throw away their church and go to other church.

That's why the author wants to warn us today. Stay in your church and worship the Lord with everything you have got. Build up your home church and not to break your church, throw away your church or burn your church by misunderstanding, hatred and bitterness.

Stay in your church to learn and experience Worship and Obey!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be abel to stay in our own church to experience worship and obey.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
