DAY 263 (2020) - Restful or Restless? Live or die? Your choice! (Please go to FaceBook(silastyng) to watch my video of this blog)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 105:16-22, Isaiah 30:12-33:12;  Galatians 5:1-12; Proverbs 23:22)

      Today's main passage:

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:

“In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it.

You said, ‘No, we will flee on horses.’
    Therefore you will flee!
You said, ‘We will ride off on swift horses.’
Therefore your pursuers will be swift!
A thousand will flee
    at the threat of one;
at the threat of five
    you will all flee away,
till you are left
like a flagstaff on a mountaintop,
like a banner on a hill.”
Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!

Isaiah 30:15-18

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him.

    My Listening
The topic I received from Jesus today is: Restful or Restless? Live or die? Your choice!

Today is the first time since I started my daily blog since July 2009 that the title and message in English and Chinese is not the same!

Why? Because after I wrote and recorded the Chinese blog and Noontime Prayer, Jesus told me some new things and I needed to put that into this English blog and Noontime prayer.

Actually today's Isaiah 30:15-18 is talking about restful and restless, talking about live or die!

Because when Isaiah delivered today's message, the Northern Kingdom Israel was not yet to be destroyed by Assyria. But Israel did not listen and choose not to rest in the love and protection of God and they really died. Israel was gone!

Afterwards King Sennacherib of Assyria with his vast army attacked the Southern Kingdom and attacked Jerusalem, King Hezekiah led the whole Southern Kingdom Judah to repent and rested in God's salvation. They got saved miraculously as recorded in Isaiah 36:1-37:38.

Nowadays many Christians do not want to spend time with Jesus each day to rest in Him, instead they keep on occupying themselves in all kinds of things. They are restless, sleepless and lots of time hopeless!

Are you willing to rest in the Lord more each day that you can be strengthened each day and have sweet sleep each day?

Restful or restless, what is your choice?

     Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing to rest in the Lord more each day that we can be strengthened each day and have sweet sleep each day.  In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
o

     Reflect on these questions:
     1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

      2.  What is your next step to be more closer to God?
