Bible Study

       Do you know why Stephen said those things in this passage to those who accused him of blasphemy against Moses and against God? If you read it careful you can find out that he related Moses story to Jesus story. They were both raised up by God and trained by God in a very special way. They were both wanted to save God's people but were both being rejected by their own people. They were both used by God in a new way that no one could think of.

     Stephen wanted to tell them that God was the same God who made all these happened.  God used Stephen in a special and new way to tell God's love story. 

     The main thing we have to watch is the question of how to tell the story - the story of the Israelites, of Jesus and the early Christians, and of ourselves.  But it isn't a matter simply of careful and skilful narrative.  It's a matter of watching for the places, both in the story and in our own lives, where suddenly God wants to reveal himself afresh.  There are 'burning bushes' or near equivalents all over the place, if we knew where to look.  What new stories will people tell, in days to come, as they look back at your church and ask what new things God was doing in your day?

     Do you have new love story to tell about how great Jesus is? Or, the story you have been telling are those already happened many, many years ago? Do you have a daily intimate personal relationship with Jesus that you have new stores daily, just like daily bread? 
    
                      
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

     What I heard from Jesus today is: Do you have new love story to tell?

    What I got from Jesus is a challenge to all of us. I know quite a number of Christians who are still telling the only stories they can tell but those are old stories happened many, many years ago. What happen to us that we can not have new love stories to tell?

    God is so real and He is a living God! We should be able to tell new stories always if we are having a real and living relationship with Him, right? 
             
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be able to tell new love stories of how great you always are.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
