Bible Study

This passage tells us about the end of King Herod who tried all his best to persecute and kill Jesus' disciples. Those who kill will eat their own fruit.

God has a bottom line and yet we never know what the bottom line would look like. At least in this passage, we see a little bit what that bottom line could look like. When God acts, no one can be able to stop that act. When God punishes, no one can be able to stop that punishment.

If you were there seeing how King Herod died suddenly like that, what would you react? Verse 24 tells us what happened after his death:
But the word of God continued to increase and spread.

And, Barnabas and Saul completed their mission to deliver the gift to the elders in Judea.

What does that means? No matter how serious the persecution could be, God's ministries were not being threatened and stopped. What have your learned from this passage today?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: You do your best, God do the rest!

What I got from Jesus today is something I tell people quite often when they are facing with difficulties or crisis: You do your best, God do the rest.

See how Peter could become in yesterday's passage. He could become another prodigal son leaving our Heavenly Father's home and protection to enter into a never ending place of darkness and hopelessness. But, he came to himself just like the prodigal son came to himself in Jesus' parable of the Prodigal Son.

Do you believe that what you need is just to do your best and God has His own way to handle with those people you can't handle, to take care of those things you are not able to take care of. What you need is just to do your best and He will do the rest.

For the past so many years I have experienced this mystery many, many times. If you do not quit and just go on doing what Jesus tells you, in God's time you will see everything being taken care of beyond your imagination and ability.

Yes, you do your best, God do the rest!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to have a total trust in you that we just need to do our best and you will surely do the rest.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
