Praise the Lord! Today my blogs/podcasts reaches a new milestone, people from 100 countries have been reading or listening!

I went to pray for Leslie this afternoon and he was in fine condition. But, the doctors decided to have a major operation for him because they can't mend the hole in his lung. The operation will be in the afternoon tomorrow. Please pray for a good operation and that Leslie can be completely healed after that.

Bible Study

       This passage shows how Stephen became a martyr. The word martyr means witness, someone who give evidence. This word leads us to know that to be a real witness you may have to give your life.

     We can see the fruit of Stephen's witness in three areas:
1. To be the first martyr for Jesus
2. To give Saul the first step of his later breakthrough
3. To force Jesus' disciples scattered throughout Judea and Samaria and not everyone stayed in Jerusalem

    We may never understand why God prepared Stephen to be the first martyr. But, we can see the fruit from this martyrdom clearly. Are you being persecuted or in depressed lately? May be you can be encouraged by Stephen's example that when God allows something to happen to His disciples, there must be a reason even though we may never know the reason until we are in heaven.  
                          
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"



Spiritual Journal

     What I heard from Jesus today is: Your dying, God's victory!

    What I got from Jesus is an encouragement for those who are under persecution because of Jesus. Don't worry, because your dying is God's victory! 
Your sacrifice will be a breakthrough for God's Kingdom ministry!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be willing to witness for you with all our lives so that we can see your glorious victory.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
