Leslie is more and more stable yesterday.  Let's pray that the doctors can have a new medication that works and that Leslie does not need a surgery. Thanks for your prayers!

Bible Study

       This passage shows how Stephen made a sharp turn. A turn that those who accused him did not expect and did not want to hear. He showed to them in a painful way that he was not tracking the love story of God and the Israelite but a story of their idolatry and rebellion. 

     Stephen takes to a new level the charge which Peter and the others have been laying, all through, against the Jewish leaders of the day.  It isn't just that they rejected God's Messiah, the Righteous One, and handed him over to be killed by the pagans.  In pattern of rebellious behaviour set by their ancestors.  Instead of the recounting of Israel's history becoming a 'story of salvation', as so often, it turns out to be a 'story of rebellion'.

     Are you living and practicing this story of rebellion or are you telling, living and practicing God's love story each day? 
                          
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"



Spiritual Journal

     What I heard from Jesus today is: From love story to story of rebellion

    What I got from Jesus is a life or death question to all of us. A question we need to ask ourselves each day whether we are in love with God or in rebellion against Him.

     For the past 25 years since I was ordained as a priest, I have prepared numerous couples for their marriage. I have seen so many wonderful, good and blessed marriages. But, I have also seen quite some painful marriages that turned out to become separation and divorce. 

     Most of those broken marriages are in the same pattern, from love story to story of rebellion. Rebellion to God and rebellion to their spouses. Sad, sad stories!

      So, Jesus wants me to ask you once again this question:
Are you living and practicing this story of rebellion or are you telling, living and practicing God's love story each day? 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be living daily in love with you that we have your love story to tell others each day.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
