Bible Study

      This passage is the second part of Peter's sermon. What you need to know about how Peter could preach that tailor-made sermon is already in my blog yesterday. Today, let me draw your attention to one point in Peter's sermon. Peter said:

For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because they did not recognize him nor understand the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.   Acts 13:27  

    Could that happen to us too? We go to church every Sunday, listening to lots of reading from the Bible but we just don't understanding what those words are talking about, could that happen to us? Can we recognize Jesus or Jesus' servants? If we don't, is there a possibility that we do the same act to kill Jesus or Jesus servants?  
                              
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"



Spiritual Journal

     What I heard from Jesus today is: Do you recognize and understand?

    What I got from Jesus is a very serious question to each one of us. Do we recognize Him? Do we recognize Jesus' servants? Do we have an intimate relationship with Him? Do we really understand the Bible? 

     Let Peter's words give us a warning today:

Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about:
“‘Look, you scoffers,
    be astounded and perish;
for I am doing a work in your days,
    a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.’”
                                                                    Acts 13: 40-41
Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to be very sure that we recognize you and your servants and that we will try our best to be teachable so that we understand your Holy Word.   In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
