Bible Study

      Today's passage gives us a picture of how difficult it was for Paul and Barnabas to preach the Gospel to the gentiles. Because of their gift and power of healing, they were worshiped as gods. It is strange that Paul and Barnabas did not mention about Jesus. They stressed on the importance of turning from those worthless idols to the living God.

      The result of their preaching was not good at all because Paul was being stoned. As describes in verse 19 that those people thought Paul was dead. Numerous missionaries were being killed when they were preaching the Gospel to idols worshiping people. 

      Are you ready to lead some of your relatives and friends who have been worshiping idols to Jesus?  Do you have the courage to do so?  

                              
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe"



Spiritual Journal

     What I heard from Jesus today is: We led a Buddhist to Jesus yesterday!

    What a good news that after more than one year of hard work, we led a Buddhist to Jesus yesterday. The couple came to our Alpha last year and they started to listen to my podcast everyday since then. The husband is a Christian but he left Jesus for some years and he repented and was being confirmed by me on Christmas Day last year. His wife had been a Buddhist for many years and she did not want to give up her belief and those idols in her home. 

     Yesterday after my sermon I asked people to come forward after the service to receive Jesus or recommitted to Jesus. They came out and I was so joyful. I asked her, "What about those idols?" She said, "I will give them up." 

     Today's message is a confirmation of Annie's decision yesterday was an invitation from Jesus. It is not easy to lead people who are worshiping idols to Jesus. Pastor Eliza and I prayed for Annie and Paulo and we were all so joyful clapping our hands giving thanks to Jesus! Praise the Lord! 

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for giving me an opportunity to witness Annie received you and decided to give up the idols. We ask your blessing to Annie and Paulo that they will become faithful disciples of you leading lots of non-believers and idol worshippers to you. Lead us also that we are able to lead more people to you.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
