Paul gives the second part of his wisdom not to judge here in the beginning of chapter 15. He concludes chapter 14 telling us the right way to use our judgment to prevent negative judgement to happen. That is wonderful, but may not be possible. Why? Because we are human beings and our weakness may lead us not able to exercise that judgment.

Here in this chapter, Paul gives us the most important way to help us to make that happen, so that we won't be a judge. It is to use our judgment to worship in unity. What? Not to be a judge judging others has something to do with how we worship? Yes, that's what Paul is talking about. That's why worship is so important. That's why we have to sing with all what we have got to praise the Lord. That's why we need to enjoy worshiping with other brothers and sisters experiencing the power, joy and sweetness of unity.

Bishop N.T. Wright's says ()http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright:

The whole point of the discussion from Romans 14:1 onwards has been to address the situation of how Christians are to live alongside people who do not think like them, and how they must not try to force others into the position they themselves have taken up.  But Paul is urging a different point.  He is insisting that all Christians should learn to think the same about mutual submission in accordance with the Messiah...

The point is to build: and what needs to be built is the common life of praise and worship.  'With one mind' and 'with one mouth' go closely together, describing that glad unanimity of praise and worship which indicates both to the watching world and to the Christians themselves that they are not worshipping a merely local deity, the projection of their own culture, but the One True God of all the world, the God now known as the father of Jesus the Messiah.

I do hope and pray that today's message is a big, big catch for you, if you understand what Paul, N.T. Wright and I mean. Got it?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

What I heard from Jesus today is: Don't judge, but worship in unity

What I got from Jesus today is such a joyful catch. Worshiping in unity can lead us to use our judgment to prevent negative judgment because we are willing to be under mutual submission according to our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, next time when you go your Sunday worship, your small group, see if you can start a totally new attitude to worship. Praise more, worship more, forgive more, enjoy more, fire-up more!

Don't judge, but worship in unity!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Lead us to be able to experience the power, joy and sweetness of worshipping you in unity.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
