Bible Study

Paul keeps on stressing his message on not to follow human leaders as lord but to follow Jesus as His servants and stewards.  Faithful stewards of Christ.

He then brings up one of the problems in the church of Corinth, judgments. Because those Corinthians were following human leaders and not Christ, they liked to judge other leaders, other groups and other people. They judged Paul. Paul reminded them that God is the only judge and we as human beings should not judge. In fact, God gives commendation instead of judgment if we are faithful servants and stewards of Christ. In this line of thoughts, Paul was hinting that they were not faithful servants and stewards of Christ because they liked to judge.

Do you like to judge? How often do you judge your leaders or other people? How ofter do you appreciate and give commendation to your leaders and other people?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":

What I heard from Jesus today is: Commendation or judgment

What I got from Jesus today is an invitation for us to do only one thing:
Try all our best to become a faithful servant and steward of Jesus. If we truly become a faithful servant and steward of Jesus then sooner or later we will not judge other people because we will get a personal order from our Lord as His servant and steward that we do not have the right to judge. Then we will receive more and more commendation from Jesus because of our faithfulness and will give more commendation to other people.

Do not take God's role to be a judge, please! Judgements destroy your family and your church!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to know that you are the only one who can judge. Stop us from being a judge but to appreciate other people more to build up a loving family and a loving church for you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
