Bible Study

After Paul explains the importance of being a builder or a foreman for God's project, reminding the Corinthians their work will be tested by fire, he returns back to the previous message of who were the leader they were following.  Did they build their work just for their leader Paul, Apollos or Peter? Were they builder for a man or for God? How about you? Are you following your dream leader? If he or she dies or quit, are you going to quit too? Are you building God's work for God or for your leader?

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage of scripture we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him, while listening to "Gabriel's Oboe":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmax47l2hLU

Spiritual Journal

What I heard from Jesus today is: Who are you working for?

What I got from Jesus today is an important question clarifying our motive to serve in our church. What is your answer?

I have seen quite a number of top Christian leaders pointing people to him but not Jesus. I have seen too many Christian leaders make a mess because they were following human wisdom but not the wisdom of God. They became fools. Lots of fools! Then where can we find God's wisdom?

Can we be a leader pointing people to Jesus. Can we be a leader walking as close as we can with Jesus, being as intimate as we can with Jesus so that we can receive the wisdom of God to do God's work for Jesus?

Who are you working for? Because if we can not make this lifelong question crystal clear, sooner or later when the fire comes to test our work, it can't stand!
Remember, we belong to Jesus!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be sure that we are working for you so that we can be prepared for the coming fire to test our work for you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
