DAY 147 (2019) - God sent David's mentor Nathan to tell David he had sinned! Do you have your mentor to tell you? (Please click here for English podcast)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gift to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 121:1-8; 2 Samuel 12:1-31; John 16:1-33, Proverbs 16:4-5)

Today's main passages:
Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10 Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.’
11 “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. 12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”            2 Samuel  12:7-12

23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.       John 16:23-24

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time up to Jesus as you listen to him.

My Listening
David did not know he had sinned!
When I thought of how the mighty David could fall into the bottom of darkness in just a few days, I was so sad for a whole day! That's why people say in less than ten years time, depression will become top No.1 killer and not cancer!

Our Lord Jesus Christ gives me two words for us to understand why David became like that: Not satisfied!

It is because of David was not satisfied even God gave him everything that David made such huge mistake. As it says in 2 Samuel 12:8:
"I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more."

It seems to me that God told David,"I treat you so good, even that you are not satisfied and often want more!"

We need a mentor like Nathan to give us warning so that we know that we have sinned, willing to confess our sins and repent!

We need a mentor like Nathan to guide us to receive the Holy Spirit so that we can experience what it says in John 16:24:
"Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. "

We need to walk with Jesus each day and to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that we can be satisfied and want no more! Satisfied!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Lead us to walk with you each day and to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that we can be satisfied and want no more In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:
1. What kind of inspiration have you got from today's message ?
2.  What is your next step to to walk with Jesus each day and to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that you can be satisfied and want no more?
