DAY 323 (2020) - How not to be dry bones, not religious people but true Christians? (Please go to FaceBook(silastyng) to watch my video of this blog)

Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

Praise and Thanksgiving

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Sing a song to praise God (you are welcome to use "Father, I adore you" which I have been singing every morning for the past 20 years or your own choice to praise God)

Father, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
Jesus, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.
Spirit, I adore You, lay my life before You, how I love You.

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method http://bishopsilas.blogspot.ca/2009/08/count-down-5-subject-shifting-devotion.html)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sin to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Word, Time with Abba (Psalm 124:6-8, Ezekiel 37:1-38:23; James 1:19-2:17; Proverbs 28:1)

    Today's main passages:

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.

      Ezekiel 37:4-10

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

      James 1:19-22

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passages we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to him.

    My Listening
The topic I received today from Jesus is: How not to be dry bones, not religious people but true Christians?

Ezekiel 37:1-14 gives us a quite horrible scene! God's children only had religious activities but deserted God! They were only religious people but not God's children, they were like dry bones in the graveyard!

So, how can we know that we are not belongs to those religious people, not dry bones but true Christians?

We can find our answer in today's Ezekiel 37:4-10 and James 1:19-22:
    1. Have the breath of God: which means we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit

    2. Our character has been changed to be more like Jesus: which means we are not being controlled by anger anymore, not a captive by filthy thought and lust. Have a new lifestyle of reading God's Word daily and be able to live what it says in the Bible in our daily life.

    3. Become a member of God's vast army: which means we are willing to take part in our home church's ministry and also God's Kingdom ministry.

If you can live out these, then we are not religious people but true Christians and that you will be richly blessed by God and will be used by Him to bless many people!

     Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to live out that new character so that we become your true disciple, a real Christian. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

     Reflect on these questions:
     1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

      2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus?
